About The Program:

It is particularly difficult to be a “young lawyer,” especially because that description spans many years. Most young lawyers have already taken the “101” courses, you’ve gotten your first job and you have some expertise. Whether you are a solo/small firm attorney, a government lawyer or are with a large firm, you are building your practice and reputation. You would like some information about where to go next- what can take you to that “next level?”

Join your colleagues and friends for a day designed by the YLD for the YLD. These are not “101” topics and are not lectures, but practical discussions about how to better promote yourself and your practice and hone in on skills that will take your practice to the next level. The topics are useful, the information is the latest and you will be able to participate or just listen – however you would like to spend the day.

This panel will introduce key whistleblower laws, including the Federal False Claims Act, the New Jersey False Claims Act, and the New Jersey Conscientious Employee Protection Act (CEPA), in addition to others. Attendees will hear from
plaintiff/qui tam relator counsel, defense counsel, and in-house counsel who will offer practical insight for handling whistleblower matters from investigation through litigation.
