This year’s nursing home litigation program will draw attention to the importance of handling psychiatric issues of nursing home long-term care residents. Two practitioners who focus their practices on nursing home care litigation have developed this valuable program, and will offer two different perspectives, one of a consumer/resident's rights perspective, the other from a training/education of facility staff perspective. Once they set the stage with that information, Ms. Graziano and Ms. Schall will delve into the legal aspects of the Residents' Rights statute and Responsibilities of the facility under the NJSA 30:13-3 and NJSA 30:13-5 and their application to this issue. Topics to be discussed:
Current LTC Psychiatric Landscape and the Future of Care & Litigation
This program will be extremely relevant to those cases involving resident abuse and neglect through use of psychotropic medications, a hot button issue in the legal community.
