Vincent Mazzei serves as Assistant Commissioner for Watershed and Land Management, overseeing the Division of Land Resource Protection and the new Division of Watershed Protection & Restoration. With the DEP since 1988, Assistant Commissioner Mazzei is a licensed professional engineer, authored New Jersey’s Flood Hazard Area Control Act rules, and is regarded as an expert in flood risk analysis and mitigation.

He will discuss Adapting DEP’s Land Use Rules to Changing Climate. His presentation on the 23rd will include an overview of the land use regulatory reform designed to facilitate resilience in response to anticipated increased flooding resulting from climate change.
