Juneteenth: More than Just a Holiday - Learning from our History and Fortifying our Future
Presented by the Minorities in the Profession Section
Juneteenth is recognized as a day of reflection about an extended history of injustice and enslavement against African Americans. Last year, after a series of high-profile, violent acts against African Americans, we saw an increased acknowledgment of the critical importance of this holiday, particularly within the legal field and profession. This program aims to expand the movement toward education of the history of confrontations that African Americans have overcome, as well as foster discussion regarding ways that we, as legal professionals, can continue to battle the injustices against African Americans.
