Afghan Allies and Friends Winter Drive

Enter Title

Organized by the Immigration Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association, in collaboration with the Young Lawyers Division, the Military Law/Veterans Affairs and Child Welfare Law sections and the Pro Bono Committee

Thousands of Afghan evacuees are living at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey, including approximately 1,000 children under the age of four, and about 300 pregnant women. With the cold weather upon us, the families need culturally appropriate winter clothing and other goods, including hygiene products, educational supplies, and baby products.

That’s where you, our generous members, come in. Let’s work together to help thousands of evacuees who are suddenly calling New Jersey home by donating towards their basic needs. Starting Nov. 29, items may be dropped off in a bin located in front of the New Jersey Law Center at One Constitution Square in New Brunswick during normal business hours and special events. The final day to drop off donations is Friday, Jan. 14.

We are excited to work with Rutgers’ IRAP (International Refugee Assistance Project) chapters at the Rutgers Newark and Camden campuses on Jan. 3-14.
